The Freedom Quilt

Truth TreeThe second of two quilts commissioned by the Constitutional Court on the theme of justice. The quilt depicts the biblical healing pool of Bethesda, after which the village of Nieu Bethesda is named. The stirring of the water in the centre is Nelson Mandela. The first ripple shows human rights, the second the first democratic election, the the third Freedom Day being celebrated in Nieu Bethesda 10 years on.
